If the first week of July is any indication, I’m in for a wonderful 23 days ahead. We started the month with fireworks over the lake, hanging out with inflatable swans named Champagne, and a lot of delicious food eaten outside. It’s also been a great week across the internet, which leads me to a few of my new favorite things:
Gordon Ramsay Dash. The Kardashian’s no longer have the market cornered on phone games. Everyone’s favorite MasterChef released a game this week that allows you to build your own virtual restaurant empire. It is dangerously addictive, and has been a great addition to my nights of binge watching Orange is the New Black.
Monthly Desktop Backgrounds. The more open workplaces get, the less personal space there is to add your own creative touches to your own workspace. The majority of my cube is covered in reminders and to-do lists, which adds to productivity but not necessarily personal satisfaction. Enter Smashing Magazine’s calendar backgrounds, which are functional and beautiful. They add just enough color and brightness to keep me going.
Polling Nutritionists. It’s difficult to be informed about which foods are currently considered health or super thanks to the constant flow of new articles and claims coming out each day. I mostly ignore all of them while I sit and wait for someone to tell me that butter is in fact the healthiest of all the fats. While this article from the New York Times hasn’t made my butter dreams come true, it’s a great resource on what nutrition experts consider nutritious.
